Dr. Cecilia Tong
Dr. Cecilia S. Tong is a Bay Area native who has been practicing in Modesto since 2014.
Dr. Tong is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Cell Biology and Integrative Biology. She then continued to the University of California Berkeley, School of Optometry where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree.
She loves primary care optometry and place heavy emphasis on patient education and preventive care. Her special interest is in pediatrics and ocular disease including Diabetic Retinopathy, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, Dry Eyes Syndrome, Myopia Progression and Glaucoma. She is especially passionate about visual functions and eye development. This includes helping children with learning-related vision problems, development stereopsis for Strabismic patients, reestablishing neurological pathway in patients with Traumatic Brain Injury and Amblyopia ("lazy eyes"). She has been involve with rehabilitating patients who have had binocular vision problems for more than a decade.
She received her clinical training at Alameda County Medical Center, Portland VA Medical Center, Livermore VA Medical Center, San Francisco Lighthouse, and Castle Family Health Center in the Central Valley.
Her hobbies include traveling, hiking and exploring different restaurants. She continues to explore the Central Valley and its surrounding neighborhoods.
